Alaska by land wheelchair style
Last June of 2022, my parents, sister, her service dog and I went to Alaska. We wanted to feel more connected to Alaska and its wilderness so we chose to skip the hotels and rent houses!
Flying into Alaska you could see the white cap mountains out the window and it was breathtaking. Even Anchorage Airport airport felt like a wildlife museum. They had stuffed Alaskan wildlife on display throughout the airport; their animal game is really strong! It made me hungry for adventure!
We went to Eagle River first, about half hour from Anchorage Airport; we rented wheelchair van through Arctic Mobility and spent a few days in Eagle River. After, we drove down the Kenai Peninsula to Homer where we took a boat to Seldovia for a day trip.
Then we drove back up to Seward, with a final stop in Girdwood. Read on to hear my accessible trip to Alaska. By land, not on a cruise ship!
