Day trip to Seefeld, didn’t forget my wheelchair

Seefeld

Only a 20 minute drive from Innsbruck (check out my blog) is Seefeld, a tiny ski destination tucked within the Austrian Alps. The Olympics were held both in 1984 and 1976. I visited Seefeld in 2019 as well as 2023; this tiny town would be great for a weekend getaway trip, if you’re local. Seefeld doesn’t offer a lot of parking inside the town, so we parked in the parking lot at the town’s entrance.

Wildsee Lake

We walked around the Wildsee Lake; it was nice to see so many people walking around even in the cold weather. There were so many different views. A section of the walk went through the woods where I stopped to cheer on the ducks as they came out of the water, hopped over rocks and crossed the walking path.

There was also an area for swimming in Seefeld’s summer months. Behind the pond, there was a little road where horse drawn carriages were giving its passengers ride around town.

The town

We walked through the town, did some shopping and got some fresh air. It felt like we were inside of a fairytale snow globe. There was ice skating and a beautiful historic church nestled behind the snowy mountains.

We had dinner in The Love Hotel, which is an adult’s hotel. After, we searched for the accessible bathroom in the Love Hotel, (this was on the 3rd floor). We took the elevator to the 3rd floor and found out that the bathroom was part of the spa!

Right outside was the Christmas market where I got the Nutella crepe! (Here is a recipe you can try) Austria: crepes, America: fried dough - grade school math equation! Then we made our way back to the car and headed back to Innsbruck. The next day we drove to Hallstatt.
